The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao. - Tao Teh Ching
Whatever our perspective and whatever words we choose to express ourselves, flavored by modern psychology, scientific exploration, faith or non-faith, the depth of human reality escapes definition. Ancient peoples did not have modern scientific or cultural knowledge, but relied on their simple, direct experience to enhance their inner nature. From them we learn that spirit is the indescribable, subtle nature of each person. One of the most universal experiences of spirit is light, the experience of the sun, the moon and the stars in nature and the inner light of our consciousness. As our essential nature, spirit is our guiding force subtly influencing our mind and body and all aspects of our being. It is the source of all inspiration to overcome difficulties and disease, explore new creative territory, and dissolve all limitations.

Our Spirit can be enlivened
We are all born with spiritual potential. This potential gives us the opportunity to achieve maturity with essential dignity, power and freedom and fulfill our responsibility as steward of all life and universal nature. But like any small seed, our inner connection with spirit needs to be cultivated and nurtured. It is this direct practical investment that brings a fruitful harvest in the expression of our unique talents, the development in our career and the realization of our spiritual potential.

Simple ways to cultivate spirit:
♣ Quiet time – through formalized meditation, gentle movement or your own process of self-discovery to establish inner clarity, priorities and purpose.
♣ Simplify ambitions and keep to what is essential.
