Immunity IV – Self-massage

Source: Secrets of Self-Healing by Dr Mao Shing Ni.

Acupuncture and acupressure massage has been used safely and effectively to regulate body functions for thousand of years. It is easy to learn at-home tools for self-regulation and self-healing. You can use the four pairs of acu-points below to regulate your lungs and immunity, help fight off and recover from the effects of respiratory infections. Select the points that suit your condition and apply the massage once or several times a day depending on the severity of your symptoms. See our accompanying demonstration video.

Breathing
The lungs are spongy and flexible, ready to easily expand to absorb new energy on each inhale and to gently expel toxins with each exhale. So, calm your mind and invite your lungs to breathe gently and deeply throughout your acu-pressure routine.

Boosting a lowered immunity with Stomach 36 and Large Intestine 10
These two points are renowned for their effect to strengthen resistance to stress, boost overall energy and aid immunity. Lab tests have shown a significant rise in white blood cells within one hour after stimulation by these points. Their Chinese names are Arm and Leg Three Mile points for their ability to help a tired traveller walk another three miles.

Stimulating immunity to fight off infection with Large Intestine 4 and Gall Bladder 20

These two points reduce stress, relieve headache and sinus congestion and regulate immunity. They are useful to mobilize our forces at the first signs of attack. The ancient Chinese said they “Expelled Wind” showing their understanding of air-born pathogenic invaders, or what we call a bug.
